Dehesa de Campoamor is one of the top destinations in Orihuela Costa and one of the liveliest. The resort is also an integral part of the Costa Blanca South. We think Campoamor has something for just about everyone and most activities or attractions are only 15 minutes apart which makes it a great choice to visit or live.
You can enjoy 3 amazing sandy beaches, and 3 fantastic golf courses. One of the golf courses, Las Colinas is only a short drive away and is rated 5 star winning numerous prestige’s awards over the years. You also have the La Fuente commercial centre which is filled with restaurants, bars, salons and shops. This area is very populated all year round with British and EU expats and gets busier during the summer months with many people who own holiday homes visiting the area.
Campoamor is home to a picturesque, little Marina which has a beautiful bar with an outdoor terrace where you can enjoy a nice drink looking out at sea. Dehesa de Campoamor lies to the south of the popular tourist resort of Cabo Roig and just a bit further North of Cabo Roig is La Zenia which is another busy location during the summer. La Zenia is well known for its beautiful beaches and the world famous Zenia Boulevard with its many shops, bars and restaurants and is open all year round.
Villamartin is also nearby which is another very popular area with the British and has a large expat community. Villamartin is well known for its golf and the Villamartin Plaza and as we have mentioned the many Brits that live there full-time.
Dehesa de Campoamor Weather
Dehesa de Campoamor is located in a prime location, less than 3km from the beach with an elevation of 130 meters above sea level and offers amazing panorama views of The Mediterranean coast.
The closeness to the Mediterranean has a significant impact on the favourable climate in the region. With about 320 days of sunshine each year and average temperatures in the 20’s it’s understandable why it’s such a good choice for people to live. The summer months can get quite hot with temperatures reaching the mid to high 30’s and winter months offer a nice warm average of 16-22.
Golden Sandy Beaches
The beaches of Dehesa de Campoamor are simply stunning. The beaches offer soft, white and golden sand and can be enjoyed all year round and are typical of the Costa Blanca.
Many of the beaches in this area have a Blue Flag status which is normally awarded for safety and cleanliness. Many would argue that Playa de la Glea is one of the most popular beaches in the area but we will leave that up to you to find your favourite. The majority of visitors visit the beach to relax and enjoy the day. There are also several water sports activities that are available in this area.
With is calm and shallow waters, Playa de Barranco Rubio beach is perfect for families and does not get as busy as the Playa de la Glea beach.
Playa de Aguamarina is much smaller than the other beaches we have mentioned so far and is only about 500m in length. The conditions are similar to Playa de Barranco Rubio and it is another popular option for families with children.
Real Club de Golf Campoamor
The Real Club de Golf Campoamor was launched back in 1988 by HRH D. Juan de Borbón, Count of Barcelona. It was designed by the world-famous Carmelo Garcia Caselles and is located about 10km from Torrevieja. The Real Club de Golf Campoamor course is located in a great location being only 30 minutes’ drive to both Alicante airport and Murcia airport.
The course is situated between two interconnected valleys surrounded by small hills that protect it from the wind, which generates a microclimate that enables golfers to enjoy this course any time of year. The 18 hole course is 6,277m and is a par 72. The lawns are neatly-manicured to the highest standards of quality which are enhanced by the lush vegetation and fauna of the area.
